confetti card!

by peta mazey on May 10, 2012

After shooting these images the other day, boo and I had a fun idea for a mothers day card. We were supposed to make it together after school yesterday, but a playdate happened instead. so I made one that I will use for my own mum, and popped her picture in to share here. My mums will be photo-less, but I still think it’s as cute. Boo will make her own after school today.

I think the pictures explain it all, but if you have any questions, I will happily answer them if you leave it in the comments section!

We did these as mothers day cards, but I think they would be equally cute as bon anniversaire or congratulations cards

supplies used

-white cardstock
-kids watercolours
-gel pens
-fabric
-laser printed photo
-confetti!!!

Hope all you wonderful mama’s have a great mothers day this weekend xo

in the hood

by peta mazey on May 8, 2012

before getting little brother from daycare we had a few minutes to run around my neighborhood (also dressed in a hood. ha.) while she simultaneously modeled and goofed off for the camera. all the crazy faces and move-busting is her doing. I love this child.

Incase enquiring minds want to know, those cute boots are from The Warehouse – this is not a sponsored post, I just thought I’d share the love because we both love them and she swears they are comfy. Definitely not for every day though, those babies are getting scuffed up FAST!

nick and sarah

by peta mazey on May 7, 2012

My first experience of a Greek wedding. A lovely mix of family and ceremony, then a cozy reception full of understated elegance, topped off with a perfect Autumn Wellington day. Sarah was the picture of grace, she reminded me of a modern day Audrey Hepburn (my favourite).

yesterday – iphoneography

by peta mazey on May 1, 2012

A trip to Melbourne (so fun), shooting stuff I can’t share (yet), an editing backlog, and life in general has meant not much has ended up on the ol’ blog lately. These pictures aren’t with my ‘real’ camera, they are just some instagrams from my iphone, but I love that little app. Never before have I been so stringent about recording daily life, and for that I thank my little 5mp sidekick. Yesterday the kiddos and I explored the grounds of the old Erskine College, we are sad to hear it’s being demolished. Such a magical place.

A sweet wedding post to come later in the week/early next week!

growing up

by peta mazey on April 16, 2012

Rachel’s beautiful, amazing, gosh-i-love-them-crazy-much kids are growing like weeds!

Excuse the quality of the first two pics, I pulled them off facebook for a quick comparison.

The location had to change a bit because of light this year, and the angle isn’t exactly the same. but the story is there.

central park and pizza

by peta mazey on April 3, 2012

on weekdays, when I’m not shooting, or editing, or working, you can find me with these guys. and when they’re not on play dates, or gym, or dance class, you can usually find us out on an adventure of some kind or another. when the weather allows, that is.

yesterday we spent the afternoon at Wellington’s Central Park, I haven’t had the chance to experience the real thing, so I can’t really compare, but from what I know, our version is probably the micro mini model. that’s ok though, sometimes micro mini is all you need. we explored the grounds a bit, and the big one obliged me with some photos in a grassy patch, while the little one busied himself hunting for ‘forest treasures’. he found a few. I love that about kids, how nature’s treasures are worth holding on to like prized possessions. we were the first to arrive at the playground, and the last to leave, welcoming the incoming rainshower that cleared out the swings and left us feeling like we owned the place. then a quick pizza dinner at Heaven, which they assure me is delicious, even if they leave the crusts.

last night…

by peta mazey on April 2, 2012

… the beach called. and we were glad we listened.

he had so much fun running around gathering beach treasure and marking his spot over and over with his name, and I had as much fun watching his adventure unfold in the crazy, crazy light. next time we must remember to bring a hotwheels car though, he said. I can’t wait.

by peta mazey on March 19, 2012

this book comes out in America.

It will be in book stores across the country, and available online links here

Exciting!

There is a bit of a wait for it to come out in NZ (May 28) and the rest of the world, but with the speed this year has been flying by, it will be here before we know it!
