make me smile.
their energy is pretty darn infectious. we go way back and I am so lucky to call them my little buddies.

he’ll get ya!

all shot on the 5D with the 24-70mm. Kind of funny shooting digital after playing around with film for a while. Each format has it’s own cool things going for it, good thing I don’t have to choose just one!

First of all, Happy New Year!
I hope 2010 was good to you and that 2011 has even more great things up its sleeve!
What better way to start twenty-eleven here than catching up with sharing some photos that have yet to make it onto the blog.
2010 was a big year with amazing opportunities from all around. A lot of the work I was buzzing away on was related to the book or on commercial projects that required a production period before being released. It has been challenging and inspiring in the best kind of way. The blog has been left a bit of a quiet and lonely little spot, though!
One of these collaborations was with the fantastic team behind Bobux, together we have battled some pretty treacherous weather on shooting days and spent quite a few days rounding up lots of adorable little faces and feet! It is some of my proudest work to date and is so fun to see it popping up around the world. The catalogue of images we have created is becoming quite a stack now, so I will share some of my favorites over a couple of editions.
Enough words, bring on the pictures!! First up, some cute, happy babies. Who doesn’t love cute, happy babies?

more soon!

One of the highlights of this awesome Hawaii vacation was getting to spend time with the gorgeous, talented, Marina and her rad boys (totally not a word in my usual vocabulary, but there is no better one to describe them). It was sad to say see-ya-later, but hopefully it won’t be too long till next time!
Little ‘Chunk’ features in these snaps much more than his brothers, but they were too busy exploring to bother with photos. Plus Chunk did kind of steal my heart a little bit

Again, Hawaii didn’t disappoint with its amazing skies. so pretty.

tomorrow, Maui.

there is something mysterious about film, especially for someone like me, who learnt photography on a digital camera. when done right, the tones and colour can be out-of-this-world beautiful. I have a long way to go before I can claim to be “doing it right” but as steep as the learning curve is, it is interesting and exciting.
luckily for me, my model for my first roll is as cute as they get, so even though I have a lot more practice to go, she makes the mistakes forgivable.
shot with fuji pro 400h on a Minolta 7000i (with a cheap zoom lens, can’t recall what)

and back to my digital comfort zone…

This photo I shot for the incredibly sweet and lovely free range baby clothing line has made it into the pages of this months good magazine. It’s always fun to see my photos in print! Make sure you check out the free range baby store, it’s full of cute vintage themed goodness for little ones. I can’t wait to shoot some stuff from the upcoming lines. So inspiring.

With working on the book and other jobs that I can’t share photos from yet, the blog has been a pretty quiet place lately! Hopefully I will be stopping by again sooner rather than later with some new shots to post!

Such a sweet, fun family! By the time we were able to get together for our session we were missing the oldest sister (an ocean away in Australia). It was a little crisp, but Wellington put on a beautiful winter day for us. How pretty are all those girls?!

Last week I spent a couple of days in Auckland for a commercial shoot. Amanda and her little prince were the perfect hosts. Despite a few winter colds, we had a great time and even managed to squeeze in a few frames at the very last light. I love the love they have for one another, such a sweet pair. They are off to Belgium for a few months at the end of the week. Travel safe, guys! Can’t wait to see you when you are back xo

A pair of cuties from a recent session. Their energy was contagious, such fun little gigglers!
Icecream is a pretty failsafe icebreaker…

Check out Lulu’s four-year-old style in full effect!

I loved how loving they were with each other… and how silly…

how adorable are they?!

After four months away, my ”two week trip” to Melbourne has come to an end. It is so nice to be home, I will miss Melbourne and my lovely friends there, but they will all still be there when I go back, and I am sure I will be back before too long!
The weekend before I left these lovely friends let me squish into the car with them and the pooch and hit the road to take in some beautiful Australian coastal scenery. It was such fun, as always. Check out their take on the weekend on their blog
