I just arrived in Melbourne yesterday to visit with Rachel and family and work on all the exciting things we have coming up over at Beyond Snapshots.
Boy there has been some growing up being done since last time I was here. Babies who were just on the brink of being mobile are now toddlers that can run away from diaper changes (and more significantly, the camera) and Gemma is a school kid, who is blowing me away with her cleverness. Every one of them is still as charming and adorable as before though, maybe even more so.
It is so nice to be back.

One of the most fun things about photographing the 3 year old set is their complete and undying belief in all things magic. Once they get going, it’s easy to get carried away to that place where a simple hole in the garden becomes a wonderland, where all sorts of adventures can take place.
This little one was convinced she saw a fairy in the trees, she then decided the fairy may just need a spot of morning tea, and skipped up to the house to prepare one complete with the finest of her tiny crockery. (As well as a quick change of dress, must wear pink to a fairy picnic, you know). Unfortunately the fairy was “too shy” to come to the party, although she spotted her flying by at one point. However, the fairy did manage to down an entire cup of water while backs were turned.
Baby brother was too little to join in the fun, but I got shots of him doing what he does best, lounging around being the happy, cruisy little guy he is.
A strawberry break…
One of the things I plan on doing with the blog this year is highlighting some really cool stuff. I love smart, beautiful handmade design, and these two treasures fit the bill perfectly. The top on the left was purchased from erg originals and the adorable little dress was from bluebird and honey

today my friend deb, posted this sweet shot of her kids playing, for her iphone photo-a-day project. In the back there is a print of a poster I made parodying the famous ‘keep calm & carry on’ wartime posters, and today I have had a bunch of emails asking whether I am going to start selling them… I certainly had plans to, I have been working on getting prints organized and an etsy store set up. So with all the requests coming in today I am starting to offer a ‘beta’ version available via email until the store is sorted. If you are interested in more details, email me!
and if you’re here at my blog, let me apologise for its state of disarray! I am currently in the middle of a remodel and am only about a third of the way there. Chances are you are here while Rainbow-Barfing-SLR is having her moment in the spotlight, humor her, she will be flying on her merry way in the next day or so, she is just a little too “sunshine lollipops, and rainbows” and for my liking, she is cute and all, but… what was I thinking?!
but while we are embracing her, here… may as well have a soundtrack
hope you have a merry christmas and a happy new year!
aren’t these two just adorable?! you may remember the photos of big sister kissing her mummy’s pregnant tummy from earlier this year? it’s crazy how fast this little guy has grown up

This time very new. Mikayla is a complete doll, so girly and such a good little baby, I don’t think I saw her eyes open for more than 10 seconds the entire visit.

Just some favourites from a recent family session… They were troupers, Wellington didn’t hold back it’s infamous wind, but it was a fun afternoon all the same!
