Meet Ruby. She was my very own dog for about a month, when I first got her seven years ago. Then the rest of the family started claiming her. She still lives with them at home, but she comes and visits every so often. When she does this is her favourite little spot.
my friends are looking after the cutest wee piggy this weekend. of course I had to go visit today and snap a few photos.
the first four are sharon montrose inspired, I’ve always loved the way she puts unexpected animals in front of plain backgrounds and lets them shine. I had to give it a go. I think I may print one of them for my wall… #1 maybe?
The last few weeks have been full to the brim with adventures with a couple of my favourite wee friends, releasing my newest actions set (at last! more on them in another post) moving into my new-to-me little home, and generally enjoying the beautiful spring weather that’s been coming at us lately (minus a few hail storms). We’ve been so busy enjoying the days that I have hardly taken my camera out of the house. I have however, had so much fun instagramming along the way. Instagram is an amazing way to catalogue your days using your iphone camera, with sweet editing tools and the ability to share with your friends and see how their days are panning out. I love it. If you are a member, you can see me there under petamazey.
Having said that, I do have big plans for the real camera this week. We found the most AMAZING rope swing looking over the city today. And my cute wee buddies are babysitting the cutest wee piglet this weekend who is just squealing to be photographed! yay!
For now I hope you enjoy a peek at some of my fave instagram snaps!
today after school we got in the car and ended up at the botanical gardens.
treats were got and eaten in matchy stripes (thank goodness for parents who send their kids to school in stripes. my favourite)…
we had the stage to ourselves…
one posed like a mini model, the other posed like a tiny old man, I am not sure which is funnier…
benches were jumped…
one in motion for fun…
and we were all happy to be out of the house adventuring…
especially this photographer. who has barely picked up her camera in months.
while I haven’t been shooting a lot over winter, I have been working away at my newest set of actions. I have said it before, but after a few little technical road bumps they really will be out soon! All of these photos were edited using them, I am having a lot of fun with them!
Update – The video wasn’t working for some. Should be fixed now
This is Ruby. Ruby is my little dog. But as a smart four year old boy I know would say, she isn’t much of a dog, more of a little creature. she is pretty odd and pretty cute.
This video makes me laugh every time. I shared it on my facebook page, but had to share it here too.
Things are still pretty frosty around here. Hence the lack of posts. There are a couple of months in the year where the Wellington winter weather makes things a bit tricky for this natural light photographer. Usually I try to escape to somewhere warm, but this year I have been making the most of the quiet time and spending time working on a couple of exciting projects. More on those later. I hope if you are in this corner of the world you are keeping cozy and dodging winter ills. Northern hemisphere pals, as envious as I am, I hope you are enjoying the sunshine and all the lovely things that come along with summertime
Other than a quick ‘hello’, I popped in to write this blog post to share that for some reason the contact form on my website hasn’t been working! agh. Who knows how long this has been going on for. So if you have tried to contact me via the website and I haven’t gotten back to you, I promise I wasn’t ignoring you!! My hosting company assure me that it should be working just fine now, but if you’d prefer to email me directly please do so at peta@petamazey.com
Oh!… Actions! Expect my latest set to be released in 1-2 weeks. I’m excited about these!!
I’ll leave you with the cute face of my fairy-godbaby
It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by here on the blog! Lots of exciting things are happening at the moment, and with all that is going on plus the winter chill in the air my poor camera is feeling a little neglected. In better news my newest actions are about a week away from going out to my lovely testers, which means they should be ready for release in the next couple of weeks. I’m having fun with these actions! It’s been nearly two years since I released the Twirl set and I had forgotten how fun playing and tweaking everything is.
Without further adieu, a mishmash of unblogged photos from the last little while.
There is something a bit magical about Autumn. The air is crisp, the colours are at their prettiest and the afternoon light is beautiful. In other news, I am opening up my diary for some NZ travel sessions, if you are in Auckland or Napier and are interested in going on the list for details of these sessions please email me with “NZ travel sessions” in the subject line. Please include the name of the town you live in your email.
